Derek Bbanga
Derek discovered a knack for being 'on show' in front of people early on in life while performing in plays at the age of seven. It is this ability that led him to setting up Public Image in Kenya together with his partners to teach soft skills, people skills, communication skills and how to portray a good professional image. He is an experienced trainer and speaker and has worked with everyone from senior executives and managers to students, womens groups and even security staff. Over the past two years Derek has worked with hundreds of people in different sectors including banking, telecoms and the hospitality industry.
He is a regular contributor to magazines, television and radio on etiquette, communication, image and style. Derek believes that everyone from corporate CEOs' to business professionals to young men and women need to present themselves with polish and professionalism and that etiquette and the right image can give you the edge over the competition. He is increasingly in demand as a speaker at businesses, conferences and schools. His work with Public Image has also led to him emceeing and moderating corporate and business events.
He has over 12 years corporate experience in finance and communications working in the United States and France for the financial services company, Bloomberg, the EDHEC-Risk Institute and the strategic communications consultancy, Africapractice. Derek has a BA from the U.S. and studied for an MBA at the Helsinki School of Economics. He is a member of the Nairobi Toastmasters and is President of the Prosperity Chapter of the international networking organization BNI.
Derek is a speaker at seminars, company retreats, staff functions, team building sessions and company wellness days. He is also available to emcee and moderate corporate and business events and doing voice-overs for commercials and documentaries. Joyce Mogere
Joyce was involved in the founding of Public Image in Kenya in July 2007. Joyce holds a Bachelors degree in Arts from the University of Nairobi and a higher diploma in guidance and psychological counseling from the Kenya Institute of Professional Counseling.
An experienced administrator, she handles the administrative issues in the organization. She is also responsible for the operations and business development at Public Image.
David Mogere
David runs the customer service programme for Public Image. He is an interesting and experienced trainer who has been a trainer for over fourteen years. In addition, he is a respected motivational speaker and trainer specializing in the insurance industry.
David is widely traveled and has attended various international conferences and training seminars in the United States of America, United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil, Cyprus, Seychelles, Zimbabwe and locally among other countries. He is associated with the Life Insurance Marketing & Research Association (LIMRA) institute in the U.S.A.
Hazel Muteesa
Hazel runs the newly opened Public Image office in Uganda. Her unique personal style makes her ideally suited to run Public Image programmes. She specializes in image and style for both women and men in the corporate world. She believes in training her clients on how to create and maintain a fabulous lasting impression. “Image is everything and we are judged by others on a daily basis on how we look and present ourselves.” She has recently trained the NTV Uganda news anchors and the Uganda Hotel Owner’s Association members.
Joyce Muthoni
Joyce Muthoni is a partner and trainer at Public Image Africa. She is also the founder and managing director of Proteque Consulting. In both companies she has been instrumental in helping numerous clients transit from ordinary self presentation to having extra ordinary personal brands through her unique, in-depth and humorous delivery style. She has appeared on Radio and Television shows answering questions on Image, Etiquette and Dining skills. She is also the author of the book, Manners at the table, targeted to young children, encouraging them to learn table manners from early on in their lives, and has featured articles in the Safe Steps magazine. Joyce has been able to work with leading brands and companies such as Safaricom, Path finder International, National Security Intelligence Service to name a few. Her in depth insight on image, etiquette and personal branding has enabled many to boost their self esteem, confidence and levels of professionalism.
Diana Mather
Diana Mather is the founder and CEO of Public Image UK. She started Public Image in the mid 80's and is ideally suited to run etiquette and international protocol programmes as she is descended from Edward Weissmuller von Wimmis, an envoy to the Court of St James in London in the 19th century. As a result international protocol, etiquette, and good manners have been very much an integral part of life as she grew up. After spending a year at Central Television she joined the news team at BBC North where she stayed for ten years. For five years she presented 'The Executive Business Channel' for BBC Select, interviewing businessmen and women working in various companies and organisations all over Britain.
Diana places quality at the forefront of everything she does and she has trained innumerable companies all over the world from the UK, US, India, Spain, Kenya, Trinidad and Tobago just to name a few countries. She is the author of three books Surviving The Media; ImageWorks for Men and ImageWorks for Women.
Instrumental in the formation of Public Image Kenya, Diana regularly travels to Kenya as a consultant on local Public Image projects. In Kenya she has trained Tribe Hotel, Dyer and Blair, AIG, NTV and Safaricom as well as other companies
